Unless, of course, they beat the Tigers in subsequent baseball games.
Whatever, dude. This is the first time the Tigers have been in first place since August 16, 2007.
Other positive notes:
• No other team in MLB has scored more runs. Well, assuming you don’t count Toronto. (We don’t.)
• Evan Longoria, Albert Pujols. And Brandon Inge. <carnac&rt; “Name three guys with at least four home runs.</carnac&rt;
• It has been proven in a blind taste test that Nate Robertson is 73% more tolerable coming out of the bullpen.
• I haven’t heard that insufferable “April in the D” song in, like, three days.
And these wins have come without His Tildeness’s trademark onslaught of dingers. He’s currently .259/.355/.259, which means that he hasn’t even cracked a double. Be on the lookout … [looks up opposing starting pitcher] Gavin Floyd! You’re in for a world of hurt and you always have. Also, your mother.
