So, there I was, minding my own business at Whole Foods, doing some grocery shopping and trying to be quick about it so that I could get home without missing too much of the Tigers game. Out of nowhere, a man in a black shirt came up to me and asked me to take my base. It turns out, Dontrelle Willis had walked me. However, I did not cross the plate. Eight other people did.
On the bright side, the bullpen was lights out. 7 2/3 innings of shutout, 3 hit ball. Good job, Tigers pen. Now you can implode against the White Sox! YAY!!! The Pale Hose are coming to town riding a 7 game winning streak and a shiny big ass lead in the division right now. The Tigers are finally showing some heart and some signs of improvement (sans Dontrelle’s meltdown) and a winning home stand is still within reach after the split with the Indians. A pair of series wins would equal a 6-4 home stand. A win and sweep would give us that elusive 7-3 we dreamed of a week ago….
One last thing – why couldn’t that storm have come through an hour earlier and nastier? WHY?!?
