Folks, it’s starting to look like the Tigers may be figuring out this game they call based balls. After reverting to form against the Native Americans the previous night, the Tigers invaded Canada with a purpose and a passion and won for the fourth time in five games since getting blown out in last Sunday. The Tildes, Big and Mig, both had RBIs and Cabrera celebrated his 25th birthday by continuing his hot streak with a pair of doubles in a 2-4 performance. The reason for his performance of late? The promise of sweet, sweet poutine this weekend. Miggy also stole a base when Leyland strategically placed a box of Krispy Kremes under 3rd base. Additionally, someone has replaced Edgar Renteria with a person capable of hitting in the American League, as he homered for the second time this week. The Gambler picked up his first win of the season, giving up 3 hits and 4 runs (yep, that sounds right…) in 6 2/3. Closing the game tonight, The Todd Jones Experience only managed to walk 2 in a non-save situation. Bondo takes the mound tomorrow afternoon for the Tigers.
Tonight’s RBI was The Big Tildes’ 999th of his career. With his next RBI, he will join Andres Galarraga as the only 2 Venezuelan players with 1000 RBI – not a shabby accomplishment Mr. Tilde.
