I missed out on Dontreezey’s big fall, as I was enjoying a rare evening out with the missus, but I got home in time to turn on my MLB.TV so that I could witness the unpossible – Jason Grilli, the Cheeseman himself, throwing 3 scoreless AND HITLESS innings. After allowing single runs in the first and second, there were seven scoreless innings from the bullpen to close down the game -that is including Grilli and The Todd Jones Experience. Folks, sometimes that’s all you need to either A) believe that things are finally turning around or B) no longer believe in things like “reality” or “space and time”.
The Big Tilde was only 1 for 5, but he had a pair of RBI that were huge. Clete, Mig Tilde, and BInge also knocked in runs. The Tigers “improve” to 2-8 and the White Sox fall to 5-4. Verlander is up tomorrow and he’ll need to go deep to give the bullpen a rest and to give the Tigers their first winning streak of the season.
