What a game last night at Ford Field Comerica. Things were not looking too good early on, as The Gambler was getting hit early and often. The Rangers jumped out to an early 5-0 lead as we headed into the home half of the 2nd…and that’s when things got interesting. BInge knocked in a run, then Bizarro Ramon Santiago contiuned his hot streak with a 2 run hit, followed by another 2 run hit from Carlos Guillen. Then, in the 3rd, it started to get weird - Bizarro Jacque Jones hit a homer to give the Tigers a 6-5 lead, giving him the elusive 2-day Cycle. Well played Jacque. The Rangers tied it back in the fourth, the The Big TIlde knocked in a run to bring it to 7-6 Tigers and things were peaceful again until the sixth. You see, in the sixth inning, things escalated rather quickly…

| 6th | M Ordonez singled to center, I Rodriguez scored. | 6 | 18 |
Yep. That pretty much sums it up. Looks like Matt Nokes might have scored somewhere in there. I think Warren Morris went yard.
And so, the Tigers bat spoke loudly for a second straight night in the D. And good times were had by all.
Oh, that Granderson fellow was back in uniform as well. Something like 2 of 4, 2 RBI, 3 Runs Scored. He might be good. Alas, Clete has been sent down I-75 to Toledo for safekeeping while the Son of Grander does his thing.
Carlos Guillen gets the WINNAR award for the night, going 3 for 4 with 5 RBI. But really, last night, we were all winners. Especially Clay Rapada, who picked up the win. Bonderman vs Jennings this afternoon at 1:05p as the Tigers go for the sweep.
The Tigers are now 9-13 and are 7-3 in their last ten games. The Rangers fell to 7-15.
Carlos Guillen’s slugging percentage is higher than Aquilino Lopez’s ERA. Bears repeating.
If your cycle lasts longer than two days, call your doctor.
Carlos fouled a pitch hard off his shin (maybe he needs to wear 2 shin guards.. or a suit of armor) before hitting the two-run double. What a champ.
Also, you missed it jerkwheat. I hit my first dinger of the year last night!!
As I told Tiff, I am thoroughly jealous of everyone who was at the game last night. And today as Granderson hit his first homerun of the season. Stupid living in South Carolina.
SA, I live in Virginia - I rely on MLB.tv to give me my thrills and hope I can make it up to the Copa at some point this season.
I’m aiming for the July 12th game against the Twins…

Do we high-five? Are there knowing glances?

I am intrigued with the prospects of a Tilde night.
